The American Bully breed is a fairly new breed of dog. It was created in 1990 and has been recognized as a notible breed in 2004, in part, by the help of the A.B.K.C. The American Bully breed is bred with the intentions of giving Americian breeds a new outlet. It has many of the same positive qualities of the American Staffordshire Terrier. The A.B.K.C. is highly recognized as being created for the American Bully. This club was also established to bring Bully enthusists together. Nothing bonds people together like having the same love for the breed of their dogs. The was not only created for the American Bully, it was created to bring people together in unity and diversity and to allow people to come together with the common bond or enjoying their companions. The A.B.K.C. is not just for the American Bully Breed. It currently has a multi breed registry in all Bully breeds. They host many events and shows that help promote a positive image for Bully breeds. They try to educate the public that Bully breeds are not genetically aggressive dogs. They show that these dog's owners really care about them and that they are loyal, friendly dogs. Aggressive behavior all depends on how a dog is raised. As per the A.B.K.C. , "the goal of the A.B.K.C. is to bring people together for their love of the breed and to help break down negative stereotype of both the breed and people."

Dog Allergies
Did you know that allergy suffers are not confined to only humans. Dogs can have allergic symptoms too. Dogs show allerigic symptoms when their immune system recognizes allergens. Allergens can be common everyday substances. These allergens sends a trigger to their body that there is something wrong, giving them symptoms. Some dogs suffer from allergens that are common in most enviroments and they get an intense reaction. These allergens can be harmless and most animals can even be immune to them. Allergens can cause a problem when inhaled, eaten, or have contact on the dog's skin. When the dog's body is aware of this allergen attack, it tries to get rid of these substances. Because the dog's system is working overtime to rid this unwanted visitor it reacts with symptoms of skin irritation, digestive problems, and respiratory issues. Changing to a Raw Dog Food Diet may prevent some of these problems.
General Symptoms of Allergies in Dogs:
- Irritated, itchy, red, moist or scabbed skin
- An increase in scratching

Lets talk a little bit about dogs being allergic to food. Food allergies can appear in dogs at any age. It might take some time to link the allergy to your dog's diet. When a canine has a food allergy it's symptoms consist of itchy skin, difficulties breathing, or diarrhea and vomiting. The best way to destinguish what ingredent is the problem is to eliminate his diet of his regular food. Read the ingredients and try to test out each component. If the food is rich in beef and the canine is having a reaction to it, stay away from products containing any beef ingredients. If the dog's symptoms go away, then you found the source to his allergy.
The best way to detect the cause of an allergy is to make an appiontment with your veterinarian. The vet will go over your dog's history, so be prepared to answer some questions about your dog's habits. The vet will do a physical exam on the dog and may be able to determine the source of your dog's allergy right then and there. The vet may do further testing such as skin brushings or blood work to diagniose the allergic reaction.
The best way to avoid allergic reactions is to remove the culprit from the canine's enviroment.
When it comes to flea allergies, prevention is key. Make sure you get flea or tick medication before the season starts. The best medication can be prescribed by your veterinarian.
If dust is the reason for your pet's suffering symptoms, it is wise to clean and vacuum frequently. The dog's bedding quarters should be cleaned at lest once a week. Make sure you vacuum home decor that is fabric, such as rugs or curtains twice a week. These materials attract dust quite often.
It is a good idea to bathe your pet weekly. This will prevent enviromental allergens and pollens from the skin. Discuss with your vet the best type of shampoo for your dog. If your dog has allergies you want to make sure you use a mild shampoo as to not aggrivate the skin even more.
It is hard to eliminate particular elements from your dog's enviroment, so your vet may prescribe medication for your pet to control the allergic reaction.
Your dog may benefit from allergy injections, if it is airborne allergens causing the reaction. This will help your dog gain resistance to the allergen.
A small percentage of canines can benefit from Benadryl, which is an antihistamine. This should only be used if suggested by your veterinarian.
To relieve a dog's irritated, itchy skin, fatty acid supplements may help. There are also a variety of shampoos that help prevent skin infection from allergies. You can also use sprays that contain soothing elements such as aloe and oatmeal.
If your dog is suffering from a severe allergy you may want to use coritsone. This type of treatment is powerful and should be used with caution and instructions from your vet.
Constant exposure to inhaled irritants, such as cigarette smoke, may be a cause of bronchitis in your dog. Bronchitis is a persistent cough due to inflammation of the dog's airway and increased mucus production. This can be treated with medication that opens up the airways, antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs.
It is good to be cautious of your dog's health. A good owner is aware when their pet is suffering from allergies and these facts should help you with that. Being knowlegible of your pet's health will help to keep them comfortable and healthy. That is a goal every dog owner wants to achieve when it comes to their pet.
